What may be useful to bring
- Your own mask, snorkel and fins — vision and fit are essential in snorkeling, and your own gear is always the best fit. If you don't have any yet, it's worth getting a mask and snorkel for your stay: with so many chances to swim here in French Polynesia, you'll get plenty of use out of them, and enjoy the tour that much more without a fit that isn't quite yours. If it's new gear for you, trying it out once beforehand — a pool, the sea, even a bathtub works — means it won't feel unfamiliar on tour day, though it's just a nice extra, never a requirement. And if you show up with nothing at all, no worries whatsoever — everything is provided on board.
- A swimsuit or a light wetsuit (shorty) — whichever you're most comfortable snorkeling in.
- Sunscreen, hat, UV rash guard — even though the boat has two shade canopies, you'll be exposed to the sun while snorkeling. A UV rash guard reduces how much sunscreen you need, since some sunscreen chemicals can harm coral.
- Towels — your own, or ones from your hotel.
- Polarized sunglasses — to fully enjoy the vivid colors of the lagoon.
- Your own camera — photos are taken during the trip and given to you for free (except tour #07), but you may also want your own pictures or video.
- Anything else that would make you happy: food, drinks, a ukulele...
